Let me tell you where to put the buttons…

You really don’t want me to tell you where to put them, as you might not like the answer. However, with KDE, you can put the buttons wherever you would like Daviey, Mike, and everyone else.

No need for some confusing application or editor, simply configure the location of the buttons as you would like them to be. You can drag stuff where you want, click apply and test the results. Tweak until you are happy.

I was thinking exactly the same thing…

I’d like to see the buttoms beside the window and not on top of the window. Is it also possible?

@andreas – interesting idea actually. i would suspect you would need a theme that placed the titlebar on the side of the window. it is possible no doubt, but what would be behind making it possible, i don’t know as of right now. you gave me a theme idea mentally that I think could look pretty nice.

@andreas – you could try with bespin, it has an option for the titlebar on the side of the window.

And this is why more people should switch to KDE!

It’s not even ugly anymore ;-)

How did you get the window background to be toned (lighter at the top, darker at the bottom) like that? I’ve been looking everywhere for those settings.

  • http://blog.nixternal.com nixternal

@Huffhurr – I didn’t do anything, I am fairly certain that is the default KDE 4.4.1 theme in Kubuntu.

  • Fri13

@Huffhurr, that is KDE SC 4.3+ feature for KWin style of Oxygen. You just need to check is it set “Radial Gradient” in the “Fine Tuning” tab of “Windows” in Systemsettings.
systemsettings > appearance > window > finetuning (tab)

@Fri13, thanks for the tip, but I can’t find it. I’m on Kububtu 9.10 with KDE 4.3.2

Nixternal and KDE, rockin’ da house!

  • Fri13

@Huffhurr. Then it must be 4.4 KWin style change.
