My list of bands…

…that I have never seen, and never had the chance to see. So Jono, here you go with my list πŸ™‚

  • Led Zeppelin
  • Pink Floyd
  • The Beatles

I would love to head to England and see Led Zeppelin play their 1 time only reunion next month. I have been to a many Pink Floyd laser light shows here in the US. If you are in the US, and have never seen a Pink Floyd laser light show, I am telling you right now to get to one. For those of you in the Hotlanta area of Georgia (US), get to Stone Mountain, that is of course if they are still doing them there. I seen 1 or 2 shows there many years ago. Absolutely amazing! Those of you in Colorado, January 18th is the next show. HERE is a YouTube video, very quick, showing off what the show is like. If you look in the right pane on YouTube (or ewwTube because of the flash requirement πŸ™‚ ) you can see a bunch of other videos.

Actually, Jimmy Page is on record saying that a tour and a new album aren’t out of the question. Take it with a few grams of sodium chloride, but don’t give up hope yet.

  • Ya, I heard that on the radio station I listen to here in Chicago, and said something about opening for The Cult. I think…that would totally freakin’ rock if they did a World Tour…hell, if they tour anywhere next year, i will be there!

In case you’re looking for the rumor info, here’s anNZ Hearld on the matter.

  • Amen on wanting to have seen these bands in concert. I lament that I missed the Pulse tour in 1994. I wasn’t able to get out of high school that day to get in line at Rose Records for affordable tickets. After that, the scalpers were asking upwards of $300 each for general admission. That’s a pretty steep price for a high schooler who didn’t have rich parents. Heh.

Does Triton College still run Pink Floyd laser shows? I know they used to back when I was in high school. Been a long time since I seen any Floyd light shows… last time I saw one was around 1998 at the Tel Aviv University.

  • I don’t think Triton does anymore. I don’t think their laser show though was like the $150+ Pink Floyd laser shows though. Ya, I seen video of the Tel Aviv one I believe on TV. Wasn’t that the first time something like that had ever been done there? I can’t remember, but it is just sticking out in my head now that you brought it up.

I seen one in Grant Park many years ago, but it just wasn’t great, to many lights in Chicago. I still think the best one was Stone Mountain. They used the entire face of the mountain so the show was insanely huge. And they had the one portion where the laser dude is playing guitar look like he was playing right above your head.

  • As Douglas Adams put it – you might think it’s a long way down the block to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts in comparison to… getting to Stone Mountain just to see a laser show… Too bad it’s not closer!

  • Hi,
I have been a Pink Floyd fan for many, many years now. I have seen them live 6 times (long time ago) I made a webpage in tribute to Syd Barrett feel free to visit and watch a few movies.
